Strides made on Aids front
As we approach World Aids Day, it is a relief to know that UNAids keeps working towards the goal of ending all new HIV infections in children by 2015 and of keeping mothers alive.
So many children grow up in child-headed homes, taking on the role of a parent. Once mothers and fathers chose the right to live and receive treatment, the painful reality of child-headed homes will not be at high levels.
Avert, an HIV/Aids organisation, estimates that in South Africa there are 1,9-million Aids orphans where one or both parents are deceased.
